And all along the way, the coast is dotted with cities and tiny villages that offer a glimpse of daily life in this unique region.
If you include the fjords, islands and coves, the Norwegian coastline is over 100,000 kilometer long. Many thousands of years ago, glaciers carved out the landscape as we know it, with all its countless mountains, fjords and characteristic archipelagos. In total, Norway has over 239,000 islands and around 81,000 reefs, buzzing with life and colors that change along with the seasons.
It was on the coast that the first people settled, here in the north. We can understand that. The Norwegian coast offers a teeming diversity of nature experiences.

Blues Cruise 2024
Blues fan? You can't pass this one up! On this voyage, the ship is fully loaded with good music. There will be concerts every evening with well-known artists, including some from the legendary Muddy Waters Blues Club: Håkon Høye, Bill Troiani, Alex Pettersen, Joakim Tinderholt, Dr. Bendix, Erik Harstad.

Practical Info on Havila's Coastal Route
From Bergen to Kirkenes, get the details on the journey both north and south. And the ships themselves - take a look. New, Norwegian-owned, designed for environmental responsibility, comfortable... delightful!
Route and Ports
Havila's four ships sail north and south between Kirkenes and Bergen all year round. The voyage takes in 34 ports. Some stops are only for a few hours, while other visits last for several hours during the day, giving you an opportunity to explore the town and area. The ships visits different ports on the way north and south, so it is important to plan the journey to make sure you see what you want.

The interiors are inspired by the sea, sky, mountains and glaciers. The food onboard features local specialties from towns and villages that you see outside the windows. The lounge chairs under the glass roof can give you a view of the northern lights and the midnight sun, or... perhaps you would prefer that view from the jacuzzi, which is warmed by excess heat generated by the ship's operation?
